Mech

This is the final pencils on a recent project for something that’s coming up, I’m not sure if I can talk about it or not, but the final product is very different from this, so I don’t think there is a problem showing around! After this I had to redraw the whole thing on illustrator, which was a pain, but I was at my friend Rob Tornoe’s house and he let me use that sintiq, so wasn’t that bad. After all, my other talented friend Tanaka gave this thing a lot of life, and I hope to show you soon the magic he worked out!

The Atomic come back!

I know, after all this time without posting something new, all I could come up with is this lousy unfinished marker sketch of some sort of lame character named Atomic Skull. WTF??? But hold your horses!!! Besides the fact that I am ridiculously busy, most of the work I do every single day at Tell-a-graphics can’t be posted. But that doesn’t mean that’s all I do with my life. But to tell the truth I didn’t do anything I thought to be worth killing my laziness of scanning things and posting and all that jazz. However, I got some e-mails asking when I’ll post new stuff. First I was amazed, there is actually real people that stop by my blog, and asking for more. So I couldn’t keep this limbo no more. And that brings me to this lousy unfinished marker sketch of some sort of lame character named Atomic Skull. I started “teaching” the saturday class at the Joe Kubert school. Not really teaching as I was back in Brasil last year at the AAAD, that’s more like a workshop for kids that, for at least 3 hours, one saturday at the time, sit down and draw. Even when you have to ask for some to do it and let go the ceiling fan, still pretty cool, and what I hope to be the beginning of my teaching carer in America. So this sketch was the result of last week’s class assignment. I took a ride at Darren Auk’s 3rd year assignment at the same JKS to create a character using only the name of an old existing character. All kids loved the idea and we had great results. Mine was that one, between helping them with their own creations. So is not THAT lousy, right?

Anyway just want to say I’m still alive, working and I promise more posting. I scanned a bunch of things, I’ll keep posting more as the week progresses!

Wonder Woman

Model Evolution

Awesome and super fast freelance to a studio in Brazil. I love working on character designs, specially when they’re based on real people instead crazy fantasy or futuristic worlds. The colors you find on my DA page, as usually!

Freckles

Became a huge fan of the show! It’s awesome, don’t know why I never started watch before. Love the way everything is so mysterious , nothing is just because, so over the top and GREAT characters! I did this as one of my commission portfolio and it looks just like that, but on my DA page I did some photoshop tricks to make it look more interesting, go check it out! Some new materials on this one, I use 4001 to ink and HB pencil to shade, trying to get that realistic feeling that I lack o much on my cartooning style. Hope to make a sort of series of it, I guess Locke and Sawyer will be next hehehe!

Zatanna

More from the Commission Portfolio. This time is Zatanna. I got the pose from a brazilian actress in a website, but I don’t think I can post the picture because of copyrights and all that. If you find you’ll see where it came from. I’ll post colors tomorrow on my DA page, you can go check it out… better make it on wednesday, cause I might finish late at night. I decided to ink her fishnets after coloring her legs, because sometimes the ink bleeds a little with markers on top, specially thin lines, and the stars will be only on colors, so I’ll pencil lightly again to apply watercolors. Will see what will happen, hope I can pull it out!

Spiderman

Busy weekend. I couldn’t go to my friend Rob’s house to watch the superbowl, so I decided to work a lot! Anyway, just finished this piece. Is not a sketch, but is not the final piece as well. I’m building a commission portfolio to show around the summer cons this year, so I think I’ll post the line art here and the finish color on my DA page. RPM – Talk

One more of the preview/work in progress for RPM. This is the main character with no name so far with Laila. I really like this shot and I might do something extra with it cause I had to reduce a lot and flip to fit on the panel.

Long Time and RPM

Yes long time without post. Soooo many things happened since my last time here that I don’t know where to start. But this is not a personal blog, I won’t be here talking about my problems, even though they had some affect on my professional life. And I decided to make this more what it’s name stands for, a sketchblog, so no more finished piece, only work in progress. The idea is to create a little bit more interest to get a little bit more clicks, here and there!

About the drawing, this was a study for panel 2 on page 2 for the web preview of my project with A Wave Blue World Inc. called RPM. Soon, I’ll post progress on that.
