Covered #4

September 23, 2007

covered

I start doing this “covered” drawings almost a year ago to study some colors based on Bengal’s style. But since October last year I haven’t done. They’re fun, and I think I should do more often. Funny that I finish that one in about 90 minutes, so it could fit in both categories :P

Laila – 90 minutes

Laila

This is a design for one of the characters from the book I’m working on. It’s something to do with Race, other than that I’ll keep the mistery now that the book is going well. I’ll post details and some previews here. This one was done in 90 minutes, lot’s of fun! Markers and color pencils over it. And the good’old photoshop.

Sorry for the low quality image, but those are pictures I took from the progress I did on this drawing. That’s part of my second panel on my first page of the preview book I’m working on. It took me half day to put that together the way you see now, and lots of help from “How To Draw Cars Like A Pro” by Thom Taylor witj Lisa Hallett and “How To Draw Cars The Hot Wheels Way” by Scott Robertson. Great and pretty essencial books if you want to understand how to draw cars. I’m still learning some tricks, and I better learn fast cause I have tons of cars to draw. Some may ask “Don’t you think it’s easy if you just lightbox the cars?” Well, that’s another discution…

Psylocke – 90 minutes

Psylocke

One more done in 90 minutes. I went a little more cartoon than I usually do, so I had more time to play on photoshop with colors and mood. Hope to do another one tomorrow.

Ghost Rider – 90 minutes

Ghost Rider

It’s back, the 90 minutes drawing is back, hoppefully more consistent. Ghost Rider this time, and I had some extra minutes to throw some colours and the old good colour holds on photoshop.
